Three Dupes You Need in Your Makeup Bag

Western Velour Beauty Co.

Hey y’all, Aya here! I’m coming to you from Sealy, TX where the weather isn’t quite like fall but all things pumpkins and sweater weather are on my mind! Today, I’m sharing three dupes you need in your makeup bag!

I’m excited to be here as Western Runway’s Cheif Beauty Contributor! I own Western Velour Beauty which is a Hair + Makeup Styling Company! My goal is to educate every woman (whether you are a makeup lover or barely wear any) on beauty products and techniques. It’s tough navigating through all the products and YouTube tutorials, so I want to be a resource that you can count on.

Oh, and you can definitely count on me saving you money because we have three big dupes in the spotlight today. These aren’t just cheap alternatives. These are products that I actually use and would recommend regardless of price.

If you have great dupes or questions about dupes you would like to share, visit Western Runway’s Facebook Group “All Things Western | Western Runway”.

Beauty Blender ($20) V. Beaky Makeup Sponge (5pcs. $8.99)

Okay. First off, let’s look at this price difference. You get FIVE for less than half the price of ONE Beauty Blender! As a working makeup artist, I go through a ton of beauty blenders, and the price was eating me alive so I went on the hunt for something that was easier on my wallet. When I came across these on Amazon I didn’t get my hopes up immediately. After testing them out on myself… I did a happy dance because they work great! The texture is very similar to the original beauty blender. As always I recommend getting them damp in warm water and using it to apply foundation. I actually use the blenders to dab on foundation, concealer, and pack on loose undereye powder. This technique keeps it from getting cakey. You can find the Beaky Makeup Sponges on Amazon!

Chanel LaRouge Crayon  ($38) V. Maybelline SuperStay Lip Crayon ($9.50)

There’s a shift in the makeup world that’s moving away from liquid lips and towards lip crayons. And I’m here for it. Lip crayons are here to make your life much easier, as it acts as a lip liner and color in one. Chanel cosmetics will always have a place in my heart but drumroll, please…… Maybelline Lip Crayon is BETTER! When I first tried this lip crayon it went on smooth like a lip balm but was packed with color. Within a few minutes, it dried to a nice semi-matte texture and didn’t move off my lips all day! Y’all, run don’t walk to grab yourself a few! My favorite color is, “Lead the Way”.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Pallet ($40) V. Wet & Wild MegaGlo Contour Pallet ($3.93)

This is one of my long-time dupe favorites! I make this my personal mission to spread the word about this Wet & Wild treasure! Although it only has one contour and one highlight shade… that’s all you need. The Anastasia one is great because it has 3 of each but unless you are a makeup artist, you only need the duo that best fits your skin shade. If you are fair or light skin toned, choose “Dulce de Leche”. If you are more tan/olive then “Carmel Toffe” is for you. The powder is finely milled and goes on smooth with no patchiness.

All of these have been chosen because they are something I have personally tested and love! I’m already working on my next piece for you guys, but as always, I would love to hear from you as to what beauty questions you need answers to!
